M.A.C Eye Shadows I Can't Live Without

M.A.C Eye shadows
A luxury product, especially in a pro pallet.

For those that haven't seen/got a pro pallet you buy the individuals and create your own favourite pallet. It is expensive as you buy the individual shadows, the pallet and the holder separately yet they're also so much fun to make and really for filling (for lack of a better word) when you finally fill one.

I have a nearly filled my first pallet and from all the M.A.C eyeshadow quads/pallets I own I have narrowed my favourites down to 5 ...well 6

The top 5 M.A.C eye shadows I can't live with out are:

  • Patina - A Shimmered champagne/taupe/gold like colour with a pearlescent sheen to it in the sunlight. It is the perfect barely-there colour for a fresh faced look and my go to paired with a bright red lip.
  • Woodwinked - My all time favourite and as you can guess it's the one that's hit pan and is in serious need of a repurchase hurry up payday!. Woodwinked goes with all looks it and blends like heaven on your eyelid. It requires minimum effort and provides maximum results. This colour is a warm toned bronzy antique gold shimmer and will pretty much enhance any eye colour. When blended it has a darker coppery/brunt tone to it which essentially acts as a natural crease shadow when applied all over the lid and blended. I haven't found a lip colour or skin tone that this doesn't work with. If it isn't in your makeup bag already you need to get yourself to M.A.C now!
  • Wedge - This is a matte colour which can act perfectly as a base to the above two colours to deepen and enhance them. However, Wedge is also brilliant in its own right. It is a lovely muted beige/taupe colour with M.A.C usual beautifully smooth formula it can be the perfect way to add depth to an eye with out going over board and without a shimmer. It is the perfect matte nude to compliment lighter and darker shadows whether that be as a base or used to create a natural shadow in the crease.
  • Mulch - A shimmered redish brown, again blends perfectly for the ultimate deep smokey eye with an extra bit of bronzy loveliness. This colour is a warm toned brown with tiny pearlescent golden flecks which would compliment blue or green eyes in harmony. Even though it is a shimmer Mulch can be used to create shadows and applied all over the lid you can still achieve a wearable daytime look.
  • Mystery - My favourite matte brown this is essentially a cooler plum/brown toned matte version of Mulch yet I would still consider it an essential in my makeup bag. This colour can compliment most neutral shades whether they are warm or cool toned with ease and for those dark haired beauties can be the perfect colour for your eyebrows with its ashy undertones it won't add any red/orange twinges that some pencils seem to give. This paired with Wedge in the centre of the lid and this on the outer corner  is my favourite combination for a matte smokey brown eye and can be easily vamped up or down for day - night use.
(Sable is also featured in above and below pictures as I love it so much! Nevertheless I think I could potentially survive without it so it didn't make the cut for the top 5 but it is still beautiful. See picture above and below of shadows in the pallet for reference)

My Thoughts - Soap and Glory Super Cat Liquid Liner

Hello my beauties!!

Happy Monday!

How are we today?

Here's a spontaneous post to keep you going until Sunday!

So, for a about a month or so I've been trying out the Soap and Glory Supercat Liquid Liner.

Over all verdict = pretty damn good!

PROS:
- It's simple design ensures quick and fuss free application

- The colour has a nice amount of pigmentation and is a dark black

-The constancy of the formula is lovely, it doesn't crack or pull on the skin which is one of my pet peeves, lumpy liner is never a good look, right?!

-The shape of the pen is lovely and works well for tight lining, flicks and micro lining. So pretty much everything you need in a liquid liner.

This tight lining and flick only took me 5 minutes!

Nevertheless, unfortunately it's not a 10/10 for me.

Although I think it's a great product and its affordability at only £6 it is great value. I think there are defiantly some changes to make it the holy grail of liquid liner pens.

CONS:

- The tip of the pen doesn't receive an equal amount of formula. I plot the pen on the back of my hand and dip the tip into the wet formula to ensure I can use it for precise application which is pretty vital for the perfect feline flick!

- Staying power- it is soooo easy to move. If I were to have something irritating my eye I would have no eyeliner left by the time I get sorted it. Luckily that doesn't happen very often but if you are prone to rubbing your eyes this isn't the eyeliner for you.

The below picture is of the plotted liner on my hand once it had dried out. I placed my finger on it and dragged. This is the result and it just proves that the formula needs some work to give it that staying power every liner requires.

Overall I would say I will be keeping this product in my makeup bag purely because it is so easy to use and so quick to apply.
I think I'll be using it for daytime wear, as opposed to a night out as I would prefer something that won't budge, that way I won't be conscious of smudging and movement.

Have you used this liner? Do you agree?

Let me know any products suggestions for my next review?

Thats all for now beauties!

♥ Valentine's Day Out and Makeup Menu ♥

♥ Happy Weekend Love Birds

How was your Valentines day?

I spent mine eating, drinking and cuddling the cutest baby animals!!

YES BABY ANIMALS!

So my Valentine's day started early on Friday evening as I had work this morning so couldn't really drink on Saturday. Annnyway, Mr J and I made a lovely 3 course meal.

I cooked the starter, Mr J cooked the main and I provided the pudding as it was his gift.

Starter: Pan fried scallops in a garlic and herb butter on a spinach and rocket salad and drizzled in balsamic Glaze.

Main course: Medium rare steak, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms and homemade garlic chips with a peppercorn sauce. It was amazing however, I was so excited to eat it I forgot to take a picture so apologies for my greediness (sorry)

Pudding: Valentine's cupcakes from my local patisserie, one chocolate and one vanilla.

SERIOUSLY YUMMY!

Mr J was also very very lovely a brought me an Orchid plant. It's so beautiful and adds colour and life to our dining room. I've placed it in our vintage copper coal scuttle, which I think looks fab gorgeous.

We then started real valentines day with more food my life doesn't revolve around food. I made porridge with maple syrup and blue berries.

Next on to my #MOTD

The above are the ingredients on the Makeup Menu for my Valentines day.

Product list:
- Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brûlée
- Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in Brownie Points
- Maybelline Dream Sun Bronzer
- Mac individual eyeshadow in Mulch
- MaxFactor Extensions False Lash Effect Mascara
- L'Oreal True Match Foundation in N3 Creamy/Beige
- EstÄ“e Lauder Pure Colour Blush in 25 The Siren
(Hart drawn with Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Vampire Kiss)

I went for a simple smoked out golden brown eye and nude lip for the smooching, with a romantic flushed cheek, a sleek brow, with lashings of mascara to achieve the fluttery eye look!

Once i was ready we then ventured out for the day to Wroxham Barns, it was a fab day full of CUTE animals and bottle feeding lambs!!

PREPARE FOR CUTE OVERLOAD...........

Mr Baby Lamb loved the camera- I was trying to take a picture of Mr sleepy lamb behind him but i'm so glad he rocked this pose!
Such a poser!
I'M SO HAPPY! (hat from Primark, coat from h&m and Scarf from Zara)

Mr J was concentrating
Shortly after this was taken I stroked his teeny head until he feel asleep- IT WAS MAGICAL!

Sorry for spamming you with an overload of pictures but I thought I would make up for the lack in last weeks post and also the animals were too cute not to put in!

What did you get up to this Val Day?

Thats all for now beauties,

Mucho Love,

Liv

SS15 Makeup & Outfit Inspiration

Happy Sunday!!

Well...ish, when I look out my window on the first Sunday of February I see drab, grey and very cold weather! With snow laying all over the country it's hard to believe that Spring/Summer is only around the corner!

We will soon get to welcome back lighter evenings and longer days! Hooray!!

The thought that our legs and hands won't freeze in the walk from one shop to another is bliss.

Long music filled nights in back gardens with the barbecue going and drinks flowing, again BLISS

Yes SS15 is around the corner and we have some prepping to do the ensure we are ready!

There the normal SS trends coming back in, more colours, less clothes & more fun. However there are some new trends that hit the catwalk back in September with regards to your makeup and your clothes.
