How to keep your Skin & Hair healthy

Recently a few of you over on my Instagram have been asking me what I do to keep my skin and hair healthy. Now, I'm no expert but here are a few tips I've found help towards glossy hair and smoother skin.

First things first is W A T E R. 

Considering our skin is made from 64% water It only makes sense that hydrating it will be beneficial. I find when I really concentrate on upping my daily water intake I feel more energetic, the water helps balance my skin levels out therefore reducing oil and shine. 

I've been working on making my water more exciting in a bid to drink more, by adding lemon, mint and cucumber to icy cold water, it's refreshing, thirst quenching and adds vitamin C. It is also something a bit more interesting without it being bad for you like a sugary squash would be.
Another way I try to push my water intake up is to replace a few of what would normally be tea or coffee with hot water and lemon with a dash of honey, or to really mix it up adding a fresh raspberry to add extra fruitiness and colour. 

Eat more R E D  F O O D S...

Specifically red fruit and vegetables are the best for your hair, skin and nails. Red fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants such as lycopene and anthocyanins that have tons of benefits for your body, such as decreasing the risk of stroke. They are packed full of vitamins and lycopene is said to help protect against various cancers. I eat loads of berries on my breakfast with probiotic natural yogurt, a drizzle of honey, muesli and nuts. Then as my mid morning or afternoon snack I munch on a punnet of tomatoes and sliced red peppers. They strengthen your hair and nails and aid growth, which in turn makes it for more regular hair cuts which also aids healthier hair and reduces split ends. 

S K I N  C A RE 

Whether your skin care routine is high street or luxury it is still so important to look after your skin morning and night. My nighttime routine it more extensive than my morning as unfortunately I'm usually struck for time cause you know...sleep. Looking after your skin with the aid of moisturisers and balms is one of the best ways to revitalise your skin overnight. 

I am totally addicted to these EOS lip balms, not only do I use them for my lips throughout the day and overnight but I also use them as an under eye treatment. Lip balms are the most dense and intense forms or moisturisers out there which is why I opt the use it under my eyes. I honestly haven't found a better alternative product that can provide such a deep treatment. Its also amazing for dry skin patches on elbows or knees or even on hands and feet. Just be sure not to mix up the ones you're using on your face, lips and elsewhere. 

Recently I've been loving Estee Lauder's skin care products, I've been using the Revitalizing Supreme moisturiser a few nights a week alongside the Advanced Night Repair serum when I'm feeling like my skin needs a real good pick me up.
Finally I really enjoy using Garnier products to remove makeup such as their Micellar Water cleansers and their Simply Essentials 2 in 1 makeup remover. Which is a mixable liquid that you shake together to remove your eye makeup. I use it specifically to take off my waterproof mascara. 

In terms of hydration I've started using this Garnier Moisture Bomb it is a gel consistency, when applied feels like it turns into a water on the skin. It doesn't leave an oily feel to the skin and it sinks in very quickly which I like because it doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky.

H A I  R C A R E

I have always used hair serums after showering and before blow drying my hair especially, I prefer to shower in the evening so if I can help it I try to let my hair dry naturally however before styling I apply this Tresemmé Oil Elixir serum. It helps with stray frizzy hairs, conditions your locks and prevents breakages infused Argan and Almond oils, I apply it to my hair wet and now I really notice when I haven't used it.

6 Spring Picks

1. River Island Strappy Block Heeled Sandals:
   These sandals as my go to spring shoe at the moment, they are the perfect heel, a few inches tall and block making them comfortable and well, sassy! They're a black suede material that lace up from toe to ankle which is massively on trend for SS16. 
2. Bourjois Rouge Velvet - Honey Mood:
   As you well know if you've read any of my previous posts I bloomin' love these lip lacquers. They have hours of longevity as you would expect from a liquid lipstick they can be slightly drying but for me it's the colour of this lippy I'm loving. This product is a perfect highstreet dupe for Mac Vegas Volt, coral orange with a peachy pink undertone...if that doesn't describe spring/summer I don't know what does?!
3. Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Pallet:
   If you read my full review from last week of this beaut you'll know it has quickly become the first palette I reach for every morning. Without repeating myself, it contains 12 shades, 3 lusters and 9 mattes. Now it surprised me how much I didn't mind the matte to shimmer ratio as I'm a lover of a glistening lid. But the 3 provided are so versatile and the mattes work and blend with them seamlessly to create unlimited combinations of beautiful looks.
4. Primark Tailored Suede Jacket- Grey:
   It appears there is a suede theme running through this post which wouldn't shout out spring summer aka less and/or lighter weight clothing however this jacket somehow works it. Obviously as it's primark it's faux suede and a complete steal at £20, because of this it doesn't weigh you down. It is a lightweight jacket and sits perfectly in the relaxed tailoring trend. It has sharp raw edges which keep it modernised nevertheless the sleek and classic cut give it the winning combination to a staple in every wardrobe.
5. Marc Jacobs Perfume- Daisy 
   This perfume is an oldie but a goodie! Marc Jacobs can do no wrong with scents, it seems every fragrance is divine and the daisy line all started here. The notes that come through with the scent are very floral  however well balanced with touches of musk and jasmine to ensure it's not too sweet. I love the description online for this perfume, it is described as 'the essence of youthful spirit: young, happy, free.' For me that is spring/summer in a nutshell therefore why wouldn't you want to spritz yourself with youth, happiness and freedom everyday? I know I do.
6. Kiko Ulimited Stylo - 02 Pearly Vintage Rose:
   Again, I don't want to repeat myself but this long lasting lipstick is high in the favourites rankings. As mentioned in my Kiko Haul they have matte finish and mid-level longevity. However similarly to the Bourjois lippy, its the colour that is my perfect pick for this time of year!!! Its a toned down coraly peach which would work for both a daytime or evening look. As said in my previous post don't be put off by the name 'pearly' as it's really not however I'd totally agree with the rest of its shade names.

Kiko Haul // First Impressions

 

Kiko is a brand I've always been fond of, it's a high street yet non-high street brand for us here in the UK as it is predominantly an online. However some cities are lucky enough to have some independent stores, my nearest being the beautiful city of Cambridge. 

I may given into my weakness and splurged (I use that word loosely as the products were so affordable) on a few new purchases. 

These pictures were taken and products tried on the same day they flew through the letterbox so I thought I'd give you my honest first impressions! 

I purchased 6 items whilst on my spree, as luckily for me Kiko had a buy 3 get 3 free promotion (try saying that 5 times) and I'd had my eye on a few products for a while... so I thought it would have been rude not to?! 

Soft Focus Concealer : Shade 01 Light

At first glance I really like this packaging, I think the mirrored effect gives the product a high brow feel, unfortunately I this didn't reflect in the product itself. 

The colour of this shade has a predominantly yellow undertone and I don't have the world's fairest skin and this shade isn't light on me at all. Moreover, I found the consistency of the formula to be thin and watery. I'm not sure if that's what they were going for when the called it soft focus, as in, no focus? I wasn't expecting a full coverage creamy concealer when I purchased this product. However, as it also features in there illuminators category, I was expecting something that would blur any imperfections and brighten the chosen area. Personally I don't feel this concealer does either of those things, let alone conceal anything. 

Rebel Bouncy Blush - Shade: Velvety Peach

This blusher is a difficult one to try and describe, don't get me wrong I totally love it. It is marketed as 'lightweight powder' yet I would describe it a creamy texture, it is really buttery to touch and literally melts onto the skin. I found applying it can work well with both fingers or a brush and as it says on the tin, the technique of bouncing the brush lightly onto the cheek using circular motions gives a seamless look. Finally it is a matte blush which isn't something I'd normally opt for but I am so glad I did. The matte finish of this gives me the option of the final outcome of the look at want to achieve and also lets me play around more with different highlighters without mixing two tones of shimmer. 

Finally can we give Kiko a round of applause for this divine packaging! Rose gold, you cannot go wrong with Rose Gold, we all know that!

Metallic Eyeshadow - Shade: Dynamic Taupe

I'm torn with this product, my first impressions were, that isn't taupe? Granted it is certainly metallic but it's not taupe. I would class this as silver. Nevertheless, I do like the colour, it's not what I thought I was buying but thankfully it's a yes from me. This is a dense product packed with colour yet it has an extremely supple texture that glides on effortlessly and due to its density has the perfect level of pigmentation for a everyday look with an extra bit of pizzaz.

Unlimited Stylelo

These lipsticks are my favourite of the whole haul and I have every intention of getting more colours to add to my collection. Unlimited Stylo lipsticks are marketed simply as long lasting lipsticks and Kiko couldn't have been more accurate. 

However, when I first opened the product and started to apply them I was completely thrown off course. They have a soft creamy consistency and feel like a they are going to be a nourishing creme lipstick...oh how wrong that impression was. After a few minutes (or less) on the lips this product turns into a non transferable, semi matte lipstick. Kiko claim these last for up to 8 hours, but who doesn't reapply there lipstick over an 8 hour period? I just wouldn't expect that kind of longevity from any product to be frank. I would say the finish somewhere in between a Mac matte lipstick and a Bourjois rouge velvet lip lacquer. Additionally, the colour payoff is impeccable for a product of this budget, to achieve both looks below I hand on heart only applied 1 layer of product and they produced two full coverage lip looks. 

I purchased the shades:

Shade: 02 Pearly Vintage Rose

Shade: 13 Cocoa  

And I already love both, The pearly vintage rose isn't pearly at all...thankfully matte pearly lips would be weird right? but is a lovely vintage peach tone which could easily be worn day or night. Plus I think it would work easily with any skin tone as it is a very true peach and would adapt well to lighter of darker skin. 

The second of the two isn't actually what I was expecting, online it seemed less cool toned and more of a brown toned nude. Nevertheless now I have it I'm really glad as I don't have another colour like it in my current collection. It's a cool tones brown with hues of bluey/purple running through it because of this I think it would suit fair to mid-tone skin as I really think it complements my own.

H&M Haul: Beauty Edition

About 6 months ago the beloved H&M launched their first 500+ beauty and skin care range.
Consisting of all of your makeup bag essentials such a lippy, eyeliner, eyeshadows, brushes and the makeup bag itself! We saw the skin and hair care lines launch with beautiful minimalist packaging headlining products such as, dry shampoos and texture sprays. Alongside this an array of body lotions and potions to meet your every need. Last but certainly not least they introduced an extensive nail polish collection, with a wall of nail varnishes I could only dream about- colour coordinated perfection.

So, with the above in mind I would be crazy not to snap up a few pieces!
So far I've got 3 Colour Essence eye pencils , 1 perfume, (since photographing the products) 6 nail varnishes, 1 blush and an Iphone case...which I am well aware is completely off topic but loooook- it's so pretty and it's made with real pressed flowers!!!

Colour Essence Eye Pencils:

I've got 3 lovely colours, Raw Umber (brown), Come in Third (copper) and Wildlife (earthy green). 

These eyeliners are highly pigmented and have a shimmer through them. These can be used as eyeliner, a wash of colour over the lid or even swiped through the wet line. Their consistency is super creamy and butter-like but they set quickly so you've got to be fast with your application- especially if you're wanting to blend them out. I've loved using them in the wet line and smudged out to a soft focus through the lower lash line to add a flash of colour and depth to my eye look.

Nail Varnishes:

I bloomin' love H&M nail varnishes! Since taking these snaps as I said my collection had grown (this is the trouble with working in the city and having the ease to walk to any shop on my lunch break, its great but my purse sometimes tells me off for it). I have Olive Twist, the colour I am wearing in the above pictures, Beach Bunny, Copper Penny and Glitter.
So I got the glitter just before christmas and I pretty much wore it for the whole of December and January! It's a holographic glitter so even though its main colouring is gold the holographic pigments in it give it a disco ball/pearlescent effect and I had so many compliments when wearing! The copper is a metallic polish which means it applies with ease, 1 coat will totally surfice and it dries so much quicker, so if you need a quick lunch break fix up this style of polish should be your pick. The final colour Beach Babe is a beautiful pinky-coral colour it's spring summer all over which is why I brought it a few weeks ago to wear to a wedding this weekend.

Mandarin Gold Eau De Toilette- Limited Edition:
Okay, so I'm not going to go into great depth with this perfume as when I bought it I didn't realise I was buying a limited edition product and I always get frustrated when bloggers rave over limited editions products because if they're as good as they say they are they're not going to be sitting on the shelves for long! This is a lovely scent and I can honestly say it's different to anything I've ever smelt previously. Its very rich so you literally only need a light spritz. Fortunately, they do have lots of other lovely scents and they are the perfect handbag size a great price thats easy on your purse!

Powder Blush- Golden Peach:

These blushes pack a punch! They are pretty pigmented so you really don't need to load your brush with much to get the desired effect. This particular colour has gold flecks through it so it is basically a 2 in 1 as it acts as a highlight as well. I really like the packaging of this product, not necessarily the quality of the packaging as none of this makeup is pricey so I wouldn't expect anything to blow me away. However I  love the geometric shape of the packaging and the detail of the gold edging just adds a little bit of something to the overall look. These blushes come in a range of 16 colours so there is something for every skintone, next on my wish list is the colours Rosy Brown or Apricot as I think they'll add the perfect more bronzy tone to a summer makeup look. 

That brings me to the end of my haul and so far so good H&M, round of applause!

Mac: Burgundy Times Nine

Mac Burgundy Times Nine

How yummy is this eyeshadow pallet? For months now I've not been able to get enough of these burgundy, copper and brown nude tones whether that be on my eyes or lips. There is no two ways about it, this pallet is a firm favourite in my collection and it's here to stay or until I hit pan.

I can't help but admit that I've caught the Kylie Jenner bug and I will not apoligse for passing it on. 

This pallet is the perfect addition to my collection and I don't quite have anything like it. Of course I have lots of lovely nude pallets with a burgundy or mauve option but this is more of a semi-nude pallet.

You can create countless combinations of beautiful looks with this palette but the difference is, there is something more unique about the shades on offer. Whether you use Star Violet to add a pop of colour, or a dash of honey lust on the inner corners as highlight. This pallet will ensure you achieve something special to every look you create.

I created this look using Antiqued across most of my lid and blended into my lower lash line, I used Honey Lust to highlight the inner corners and lined my upper lash line using embark then pulled it all together with a swipe of brown pencil liner in the wetline and lashings of mascara. 

Simple, daytime smokey and eye-catching.

Wedding Season Must Haves

The Wedding season is quickly approaching!

As I am getting older so are my friends and family obviously, everyone is getting to the age where weddings are being planned and prepped and invites are flying through the letterbox! 

I've come up with a list to get you through the season with minimal spending but maximum fun and glamour! 

First up...

Shoes: 

The most versatile and flatting heel are nude. They will go with essentially absolutely everything and they will give the allusion of a longer leg. My preference in a pointed stiletto - I think the point is very chic- WARNING pointed heels can result in slightly numb toes.

However there is nothing wrong with a open toe, round toe or platform heel, they will all work well with most outfits and extend the look of your leg. DOUBLE WIN.

Clutch Bag:

Again Nude is always a safe bet, however if you pre plan your outfits buying a silver or gold clutch can go with most and also add a touch of sparkle. However, at the hologram bags are perfect and so on trend at the moment. I prefer oversized clutch bags as I like to bring the world share of tissues for the ceremony and some makeup for retouching throughout the day.

Make Up:

Whether your a guest or the bride the one thing you want from your makeup on a long day like a wedding is staying powers so i've rustled up a few makeup must haves for your wedding makeup selection which will get you through the big day with minimum effort and worry resulting in maximum enjoyment.

Lips:

These Bourjois Rouge edition Velvet lipsticks are fantastic!!
They're only £8.99 and have recently extended there colour pallet. The Hot Pepper Red is beautifully bright with an orangey tint and works really will with most skin tones. They have extended there nude collection which is perfect for the Bride as they don't transfer so kissing your new hubby all day A'OK!

Face:
This concealer is the brilliant as I've mentioned in previous High Street Beauty Haul is so long lasting, its none transferable and is fantastic for blemishes and in a lighter tone under the eye and a brightener. Its on sale in Boots at the moment from £4.19 down to £3.99 its a no brainer!!

Eyes:

These cream stick eye shadows are great, there are loads of gorgeous ones on the market at the moment especially in the high end spectrum, the By Terry shadow sticks are a fav! However for the less bank breaking fee of just £4.49 I would say these Rimmel Shadow sticks are just as great! They are long lasting and have high pigmentation and require little effort and have a range of 8 different colours in the range. At the moment and they are on 3 for 2 so its a crime not to snap your favourite shades up now!!

Tools:

This Real Techniques Mini Brush Set obviously isn't for the general and initial application of your makeup but they are so handy, the perfect hand/clutch bag size and give you most tools you need to retouching your makeup throughout the day. They are also so affordable at only £9.99!

I hope this was helpful for your up and coming wedding prep, if you have more than one it can become pretty pricey and get a little stressful which we certainly don't want it to be. Weddings are a celebration of love and a coming together of families and happiness so anything that can be done to lower the stress levels is a bonus, nay?

HighStreet Beauty Haul!

I went shopping, maybe more than once?

It was my birthday this month and I was very lucky to receive some spending money so over the last few weeks I have been in and out of the city trying really hard it's really easy to buy myself some goodies.  

Some of these goodies are repurchases and some I am yet to test out so I am sure you will see more of those ones on here with reviews.

So here's the low down of what I got:

Zara Perfume FEMME: 

This is a miniature roller ball perfume and it is perfect for your handbag especially on nights out or in the summer months when you're a bit conscious. At only £3.99 it's a bargain for the refresh you need through out the day. It is an oriental smell with bergamot, peony, vanilla and musk which makes it warble for day and night!

Super Facialist by Una Brennan: 

This is a new brand to me, one I am very excited to try with many bloggers recommending Una's creams and treatments. 

- Vitamin C Skin Defence Daily Moisturiser: This day cream is meant to act as protection from the sun with SPF in it. It is also meant to give your skin more luminous, radiant and hydrated skin. This is everything I want in a moisturiser. Something I will wake up and put on and make me feel fresh and healthy along side providing a good even skin texture and based for foundation.

- Super Lift Night Cream: This moisturiser is meant to recharge and optimise cellular renewal for a fresh youthful plump skin. Different ingredients such as peptide and apple will help to rejuvenate you skin throughout your sleep. I haven't tried either of these so of yet so I will keep you posted literally.

 L'Oreal Paris:

Le Blush: I have seen lots of reviews of this gorgeous blush range form L'Oreal. I went for the Coral/Peach blush in 160 which I hope will be my new summer must have blush. Even when applied with my finger onto my hand for this swatch it blend with ease. Obviously it is over pigmented here purely because I used a large amount and applied it with my finger so its more packed on than evenly distributed. Nevertheless once applied with a brush I can see real potential in this product.

Infallible Matte Foundation: This is a new release from L'Oreal and I am a big fan of there True Match foundation so I was keen to find out if this foundation was up to the hype. I have seen a few great reviews so far... It is meant to last for 24hrs however I don't intend to wear it for that long so it is not something I will be able to comment on. It says it provides a full coverage with out the cake affect leaving skin looking like skin, I like the sound of that! It is also 'Clinically proven' to be steam and waterproof which sounds fab! I have picked up Vanilla 11 which is the perfect match for me. Again this is a new product for me so stay tuned for my thoughts while I test it out.

Marks and Spencer, Autograph- White Wood Perfume:

Oooo I am in love with this scent. Its new to me and great value £19.50 for 75ml. M&S have gotten on to a great one here. Its a fresh formal scent and perfect for everyday wear.  'A delicate fragrance with notes of oyclamen, orange bloom, magnolia and transparent wood'.  It's hard to describe but go and have a sniff in store, its seriously lovely! I also really like the bottle, it looks enticing on my dressing table, the fresh and crisp white bottle with simple chains wrapped around the neck screams chic and modern. Thats me?!

Soap and Glory Solar Powder Bronzer:

I've seen Lily Pebbles rave about this, repurchase and put her other bronzers in storage; therefore it must be something special. it does look gorgeous with the two lovely tones which don't appear to be too orange toned either (hooray!) meaning will give a sun kissed look but I will also be able to use it to give my face some light and shade and subtle structure for lack of an overused work contour. I am really excited to use this product, I have high hopes that it will be a new favourite in my collection. 

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer:

Repurchase! This is just my fav concealer, I've pick it up in shade 1 to use as a under eye bag cover upper. It has fantastic coverage and everyone whose a fan of makeup knows this is the concealer to beat. It would be tough to beat it at a steal only £4.19! 1 thing I think you need to know about this product once applied you do need to work quickly as it sets. This is because they have tried to make it full coverage and transfer proof, which it does both. Just remember to work with the product and blend quickly to move it around. 

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick by Kate: 

This is a cream eyeshadow stick, it is very creamy. It provides easy application and in this rose gold colour is bang on trend at the moment. However, don't let the creaminess of the formula fool you, you need to act quick and get it in place and blended asap because this doesn't budge once it is set! This certainly is crease free and pretty much waterproof, which is always good to bare in mind when taking your makeup off in the evening. It might need an extra cotton pad or wipe. A lovely colour and product nonetheless. Well done again Mossy!

Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara:

Repurchase, in my opinion Maybelline are the queens of Drug Store mascaras. I buy this waterproof one as a layer in my beauty regime. This is the step straight after curling my lashes. It is important to use a waterproof mascara after you curl. Waterproof mascaras are oil based therefore it will hold the curl normal mascaras are water based so just as your hair would go straight in the rain your eyelashes will with water based mascara. If you don't already have this step in your beauty regime trust me it is soo worth the extra mascara as the results are undeniable. 

Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter:

This is again essentially a repurchase just in a new colour. I already have about 5 of these and I love there easy wearability, check out my review/recommendation of them in a previous favourites post so I won't repeat myself.

This time a went for Pink Truffle, I think its not quite correctly named I would call it rose truffle. Its a a reddish rosy, brown truffle-like nude and it hasn't let me down. Its gorgeous on and balances with your natural lip colour seemingly!

EOS Lip Balm:

This is an American Brand and a discovered it when my best friend brought me some goodies back from the USA and introduced me. I've been hooked ever since. The only place I have found it being sold is in Topshop but for a bank breaking £7 FOR A LIP BALM?! Worry not my lovelies! I brought a 5 pack on eBay for £16.95 not only are you then stocked up, but you get a chance to try each flavour/sent and pay 1/2 the price with free delivery! It works out just under £3.50 per lip balm and that's a price I don't mind paying for smooth lips. They are 95% organic & 100% natural. Directions for use are my fav: Twist off top, Pucker up, Smooth on, Smile. Simple easy worth the eBay hunting (or follow the link and don't hunt).

Thinking of Luxury Makeup? Think Charlotte Tilbury.

This beautiful, inspiring and empowering lady knows a thing or 10 about make up. 

Her makeup may be pricey but I can assure you it's worth it.

 Using the same makeup as the likes of Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, Cara D and practically every other A list model and celebrity on the planet is a pretty cool thought...right? 

Charlotte is the master of the smokey eye and the inventor of the the powerful and alluring yet doable feline flick. She provides us detailed how to guides on her blog and YouTube channel, therefore there is nothing this lady isn't doing which you can't recreate and using the exact products used on the stars. 

This is her makeup revolution and she's inviting women and men all over the world to join her. 

Her makeup is raved about and recently I was lucky enough to receive a present from my best friend Vee, from Victoria Beauty for my birthday from CT's luxury collection of colour coded eyeshadows. 

Luxury Pallette, Fallen Angel 

Sorry I did use it before I photographed it, I just couldn't wait and was going to a party! 

From left to right- 1 Prime, 2 Enhance, 3 Pop, 4 Smoke

How beautifully are these eye shadows presented? The rose gold packaging gives the product such a luxurious feel. With Charlottes name engraved and the sparking, starry case just makes you want to show it off to everyone.

My thoughts on the Shadows:

• 1 Prime is a barely there glossy golden toned pink pearlescent colour, it is perfect as a base on the eye, highlight on the brow bone or inner conner of the eye or even as a highlight on the high of the cheekbone
• 2 Enhance is a cool toned antique silver it will literally compliment any eye colour and skin tone. It will work well with warm or cool toned colours being blended into it with ease. 
• 3 Pop is a Molten metallic bronzy colour, works well blended into the crease with enhance on the lid for an easy and wearable day look with a pop of colour. It will add a chic edge to any eye makeup look by making any eye instantly smokey
• 4 Smoke is a velvet jet black, it is everything you want in a black eyeshadow and blends perfectly. However, it does have a little bit too much fall out which is slightly messy but ensuing you tap off excess prior to application it isn't a problem

M.A.C Eye Shadows I Can't Live Without

M.A.C Eye shadows
A luxury product, especially in a pro pallet.

For those that haven't seen/got a pro pallet you buy the individuals and create your own favourite pallet. It is expensive as you buy the individual shadows, the pallet and the holder separately yet they're also so much fun to make and really for filling (for lack of a better word) when you finally fill one.

 I have a nearly filled my first pallet and from all the M.A.C eyeshadow quads/pallets I own I have narrowed my favourites down to 5 ...well 6 


The top 5 M.A.C eye shadows I can't live with out are:

• Patina - A Shimmered champagne/taupe/gold like colour with a pearlescent sheen to it in the sunlight. It is the perfect barely-there colour for a fresh faced look and my go to paired with a bright red lip.
• Woodwinked - My all time favourite and as you can guess it's the one that's hit pan and is in serious need of a repurchase hurry up payday!. Woodwinked goes with all looks it and blends like heaven on your eyelid. It requires minimum effort and provides maximum results. This colour is a warm toned bronzy antique gold shimmer and will pretty much enhance any eye colour. When blended it has a darker coppery/brunt tone to it which essentially acts as a natural crease shadow when applied all over the lid and blended. I haven't found a lip colour or skin tone that this doesn't work with. If it isn't in your makeup bag already you need to get yourself to M.A.C now! 
• Wedge - This is a matte colour which can act perfectly as a base to the above two colours to deepen and enhance them. However, Wedge is also brilliant in its own right. It is a lovely muted beige/taupe colour with M.A.C usual beautifully smooth formula it can be the perfect way to add depth to an eye with out going over board and without a shimmer. It is the perfect matte nude to compliment lighter and darker shadows whether that be as a base or used to create a natural shadow in the crease.
• Mulch - A shimmered redish brown, again blends perfectly for the ultimate deep smokey eye with an extra bit of bronzy loveliness. This colour is a warm toned brown with tiny pearlescent golden flecks which would compliment blue or green eyes in harmony. Even though it is a shimmer Mulch can be used to create shadows and applied all over the lid you can still achieve a wearable daytime look.
• Mystery - My favourite matte brown this is essentially a cooler plum/brown toned matte version of Mulch yet I would still consider it an essential in my makeup bag. This colour can compliment most neutral shades whether they are warm or cool toned with ease and for those dark haired beauties can be the perfect colour for your eyebrows with its ashy undertones it won't add any red/orange twinges that some pencils seem to give. This paired with Wedge in the centre of the lid and this on the outer corner  is my favourite combination for a matte smokey brown eye and can be easily vamped up or down for day - night use.

(Sable is also featured in above and below pictures as I love it so much! Nevertheless I think I could potentially survive without it so it didn't make the cut for the top 5 but it is still beautiful. See picture above and below of shadows in the pallet for reference)
